Un-scripted

While a Peter Jackson project and a Michael Mann/Leonard DiCaprio/John Logan project have been shopped around town this week, industry tracking boards have been working overtime, with everyone weighing in the merirts of each project and what buyer could get them in the end. The Logan script was apparently watermarked, according to sources, but that didn’t it stop assistants from disseminating it or execs from snatching it from under the noses of their studio toppers. Jackson’s “The Lovely Bones” script, co-written by his wife Fran Walsh and Phillipa Boyens, apparently even made it onto tracking boards, and that’s when things crossed a line in the eyes’ of Jackson’s attorneys, who began sending out a cease and desist letter to tracking boards. “A secret ID word has been imbedded in each copy of the screenplay and we are presently investigating the source of the leak and appropriate action will be taken,” the letter ominously warned.
