Line of the night from the New York Film Critics Circle Awards: Screenwriter Robert Benton, after describing Javier Bardem as a "harrowing study of evil" and all-around intimidating menace in "No Country for Old Men": "This is probably not the right place to mention it, but Javier Bardem, if you're done with acting, would you consider becoming my agent?"

Line of the night runner-up: Ethan Coen, who with bro Joel won best screenplay, helmer and picture from the Gotham reviewers (after never winning either of the first two awards from the group): "I always thought critics were full of s#*t, but this year they're full of taste and discernment."

Swallowing pride to embrace critics (for one night) was a theme for award winners (lifetime achievement winner Sidney Lumet: "It's hard to thank critics after 50 years" of, er, disagreeing with reviews).

Some might have extra reason to be grateful this year. Winning the favor of the 31 Gotham critics bodes well for directors: The NYFCC has correctly prefigured the best director Oscar for the past three years running. Which means the Academy could have even more taste and discernment come the end of February.

A personal invite for Javier Bardem and a heartfelt congratulations on such an outstanding acheivement.

My name is Elizabeth Kay Baenisch and in May 2006, I graduated as an esthetician at the Aveda Institute of Denver Colorado. Since then, I have begun a new journey. My journey is to live out my dharma as a Goodwill Ambassador with The Alliance For A New Humanity In this journey, I have begun studying and honoring the teachings and principles of Dr. Deepak Chopra and many of the great yogi’s. In case you do not know Dr. Deepak Chopra, he is world acclaimed scientist, author, and ayurvedic doctor. Hence, I am offering and opening with a heartfelt invitation to join and create a synergy with the Alliance for a New Humanity through Be the Change.

The founding members of The Alliance For A New Humanity include Nobel laureates Oscar Arias and Betty Williams, renowned author Deepak Chopra, Puerto Rican Senator Antonio Fas, human rights activists Kerry Kennedy and Judge Baltazar Garzon, singer Ricky Martin, environmentalists Ashok Khosla, philanthropists Raymond Chambers and Salomon Levis, peace maker Sarah Osacky-Lazar and communicator Roberto Savio have a deep dedication for eco-conscious responsibility, sustainability on a global scale, and a passion to help mankind. Deepak Chopra has authored more than 50 books in 35 languages. The beauty and peace to which Deepak Chopra has dedicated his life to the mission of wellness and peace has brought about success in every business pursuit initiated. For these reasons and so many more, I am grateful to share anhglobal.org and to co-create a forum of dialog by which to share "Be the Change" in the personal language and forum that feels most authentic to you as a yogi and the lifestyle to which you are dedicated.

Deepak Chopra states on his website, www.anhglobal.org, the intention of "The Alliance for a New Humanity is to create an alliance of people based on the awareness of humanity's interconnectedness. We believe that if enough people share the value of peace, war can be brought to an end. If enough people shift their awareness to social justice, human rights, and environmental sustainability, then injustice, oppression, and destruction of the ecosystem can be stopped. Such a shift is already occurring- now it needs to reach critical mass, which in turn needs organization.

I am hoping along with your consideration of learning more about Be The Change and The Alliance for a New Humanity, you will also keep me in mind for any future involvement or purchases with The Chopra Center of Carlsbad, California. As a Chopra Center Ayurvedic Products Network Consultant, I am honored to have met you through this medium and close with a heartfelt Namaste.

Many Blessings,
Elizabeth Kay Baenisch
