Ulrich Schroeder Will Get Some Satisfaction

By Charles Masters

Amid the crush of journalists and onlookers eager to get a view of the Rolling Stones on their appearance at the Berlinale was their self-proclaimed No. 1 German fan, Ulrich Schroeder.

Hailing from Hamburg, Schroeder says he has seen the Stones no fewer than 160 times, meaning he's probably seen more concert time of the band than Martin Scorsese saw footage to make his documentary "Shine a Light," which opened the Berlin International Film Festival on Thursday evening.

Schroeder claims Ronnie Wood is a good friend but says he's not expecting to hang with the guitarist in the midst of red carpet and press interview duties. "I don't think he'll have any time for me these days," the
colorfully clad fan said.
