Friends forever...or not
By Borys Kit and Steven Zeitchik
The Daily Mail in the U.K. had a juicy rumor Wednesday about a "Friends" movie that could be waiting in the wings.
"Friends reunited: Jennifer Aniston and the gang set to return for big-screen blockbuster" the headline blared, and then proceeded to cite blind sources about how the cast wanted in and the project will be "produced by Warner Bros."
Only one problem -- it doesn't appear to be true. The studio denied it, and there's no confirmation from anyone around town that anything is even being considered. Indeed, a close read of the article revealss no details, nor does it even feature any cast members personally expressing interest, the way they have with "Arrested Development" and "X-Files."
Of course Warners isn't saying a "Friends" movie couldn't happen -- just that this likely won't be its week, its month, or even its year.

Hi
this is my friend ship quots,
"True friendship is like sound health; the value of it is seldom known until it be lost."
"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born."
"A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out."
"A friend is someone who is there for you when he'd rather be anywhere else."
"Your friend is the man who knows all about you, and still likes you."

If Sex and the City can do it, Friends which had I'd say literally 5X the audience -30-35 million people each week. They should consider it.

Never saw the show, not going to see this movie, whether it comes out or not. Chopped up in 1/2 hour chunks, this band of bozos may be tolerable, but stretched out into a 2 hour movie? I don't think so.

This is one of those rumors that someone guesses could be true, perhaps even is true, but no one has done anything more than think about it.
I'm sure that after the huge success of Sex and the City, Warner Bros. is probably thinking of a Friends movie. But other than bringing it up in a meeting, it probably hasn't gone any further than that.
I will say that Sex and the City has a cult audience, and that often translates into good box office. Also, who doesn't want to see a movie about four horny, foul-mouthed women?
Friends has a mainstream audience, and a rather wholesome cast. The producers would have to come up with a riotously funny script that could stand on its own merit, rather than offering a warmed-over extended-length sitcom. If the producers offered more of the same, the Friends audience would just stay home and watch repeats every night on TV.

I doubt that there is any validity to this rumor. My understanding was that some of the members didn't even like each other and so I doubt that they would reunite to make a movie.
