Slumdog: Now it's official

You know when the biggest news to come out of the best picture annoucement is that the producer has said a four-letter word that the choice lacks a certain surprise. And indeed, Christian Colson's slip of the tongue notwithstanding, all went according to form when it came time for the big reveal. Slumdog won it's fourth Globe -- and the hattrick of picture drama, director and screenplay -- and Searchlight wound up with six. The Oscar frontrunner widens the gap. And Danny Boyle -- a director no one was talking about a year ago -- is suddenly the one to beat.

We've got to finish up some other deadlines, so more later (in the vein of Mickey Rourke just asking Bruce Spriingsteen backstage where "are we going now"). In the meantime, thank you for following us live.
