Slumdog Simon Snags It

Beauf The Slumdog train begins to pull out of the station with more authority than the Mumbai to Calcutta express. Simon Beaufoy wins the first major nonacting award, best screenplay, for his adapted take on "Slumdog Millionaire."

The HFPA has a reputation for tabbing their favorites and giving them numerous awards, but the interesting point here is that Beaufoy is the only one of the five screenplay noms never to be nommed for a Globe before. Can you say Best Picture? Searchlight also gets its second Globe of the night, most so far for a studio.

An absolute disappointment and an overrated film. With a totally unrealistic quiz show scenes. With the exception of the child actors, the adult cast (in particular the main actor) really let the film down. Kite runner or Milk are far better film with more realistic plots and greater depth.

Thanks for your useful info, I think it’s a good topic.

It is a wonderful article,i like it,thank you very much!
